As a WTG Package Manager at BlueFloat Energy, John supports project development activities in the UK and has responsibility for the technical assessment, contract negotiation and management of the TSA.

John has broad experience in the wind energy sector. Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, he spent over 10 years working for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. During this time, he held a number of roles including Senior Project Manager, Offshore Sales Project Manager and WTG package manager, working across various business sectors including: project execution (construction), service major retrofits (blade repairs) and offshore turbine sales. In his role as WTG package manager, he worked on the Provence Grand Large floating project in the south of France.

John started his career in the Oil and Gas industry at Schlumberger as a field engineer in gas injection and submersible pump systems, working offshore in the UK. From there, he had a spell at WoodMac as an energy analyst and then as a commissioning engineer for ManTurbo, working offshore on gas compression equipment. John moved into the wind industry in 2010, as a Project Engineer at Natural Power Consultants, where he performed gearbox inspections, end of warranty turbine inspections and technical due diligence as Lenders’ Engineer.

John lives in Glasgow in Scotland and is a chartered project professional with the Association of Project Management and holds a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh.
