As Head of Technical, Dan Dominguez oversees and manages technical workstreams of BlueFloat Energy’s projects in the Philippines from development to execution. He is responsible for achieving effective and optimised technical project delivery within the prescribed budget and timelines. Dan is also in charge of defining project strategies and execution plans. He collaborates with partners and external consultants to ensure deliverables are executed in accordance with BlueFloat Energy’s corporate standards and requirements.
Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy Dan served at Shell for 17 years, having held various roles from leading engineering disciplines to managing engineering and project teams in the Upstream Group, from project development, engineering, construction/commissioning, to assets operations/maintenance phases.
With a mechanical engineering background and technical expertise gained over the years, Dan also served as one of Shell’s Discipline Technical Authorities (subject matter experts) since 2011, responsible for delivering project integrity and technical assurance across Shell’s major upstream projects and operating assets worldwide.
Dan’s experience in major equipment packages (turbines, compressors), platform substructures (jacketed, barge, semi-subs, TLPs, spars), and modularized facilities gained in the content of offshore deepwater projects, will be relevant for the development of BlueFloat Energy’s floating offshore wind projects in the Philippines. Leveraging his strong track record of working with technical consultants, EPCIC/EPCM contractors, OEMs/Package suppliers, and technical services contractors, Dan is well placed to achieve synergies for effective technical management and project delivery.
