As Environment and Consents Manager, Benben is responsible for managing all the workstreams related to environmental and planning consents and permits for BlueFloat Energy projects in the Philippines. Benben is also in charge of establishing strong relationships with key project stakeholders, local regulatory bodies, as well as with the wider BlueFloat Energy team and potential co-development partners to ensure successful project delivery.
Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Benben served as Project Development Manager of SunAsia Energy’s 1,300MW Floating Solar Power Project located in Laguna De Bay in Laguna, Philippines. In her role, she was responsible for managing all the permitting workstreams of the project until it reached a ready-to-build status. Before this, she served as Business Development Officer at Meralco PowerGen Corporation where her main role was to assess feasibility of potential renewable energy projects in the Philippines through technical assessment, legal and regulatory due diligence, and financial modelling.
Benben began her career with the Lopez Group and then moved to First Gen Corporation, where she worked for almost 9 years in various project development and business development roles. Her experience in First Gen’s LNG Terminal Project located in Batangas City, Philippines allowed her to develop skills and expertise in project permitting, especially in environmental and regulatory compliance.
Benben graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of the Philippines-Los Baños.
