Acting as Country Manager, Armando is responsible for BlueFloat Energy in the Phillippines, leading the development of offshore wind projects from site screening through to Final Investment Decision and beyond. Armando manages site selection, consenting, development planning, and establishes and maintains relationships with strategic partners and key local stakeholders.
Armando has been working in the energy industry for over 12 years. Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Armando served as a Senior Business Development Manager in the Global Business Power of Meralco Powergen Corporation (MGEN)handling thermal and renewable energy projects (floating & ground-mounted solar and pumped-hydro) in the Philippines.
Before joining Meralco Powergen Corporation, Armando worked for over 3 years as Project Development Manager for Enernet Global, a hybrid microgrid renewable energy developer.
Armando started his career as Business Development Specialist for 7 years developing greenfield geothermal projects for the Energy Development Corporation (EDC) securing and maintaining renewable energy service contracts in the Philippines, Indonesia and Taiwan.
Armando is a Registered Mechanical Engineer graduated from the University of the Philippines-Diliman. He is an expert in Financial Modeling, portfolio management, power and grid connections, permitting and consenting, government relations, EPC contract drafting and negotiations.
