As Director of Technology and Supply Chain at BlueFloat Energy, Jorge Porres is responsible for analyzing various floating technologies and assessing their suitability for each of BlueFloat Energy’s projects under development. Jorge is also responsible for evaluating the supply chain, taking into consideration potential risks and opportunities.
Jorge brings more than five years of first-hand experience in floating offshore wind. Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, he was part of the core team that developed and executed the WindFloat Atlantic project off the coast of Portugal. Jorge was responsible for the fabrication of one of the three floating foundations that was manufactured at Navantia’s shipyard in Ferrol, and supervised all production, QA/QC and HSE matters. Jorge also oversaw the installation of the three wind turbines at the quayside and served as project engineer for the offshore installation and commissioning of the WindFloat Atlantic windfarm until COD.
Jorge received his Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Hydraulics and Energy from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
