Carmen Solórzano

Wind & Metocean Manager, Broadshore and Bellrock projects

As Wind & Metocean Manager within the Broadshore and Bellrock project teams, Carmen is responsible for initiating, defining and assisting with the execution of Wind and Metocean measurement campaigns, running requests for proposals, assessing offers and working with the Project Team to select preferred subcontractors for wind and metocean conditions measurement campaigns.

Carmen has 14 years of work experience in the wind energy sector, in particular in the area of onshore and offshore wind resource assessment and energy yield prediction.

Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, she has worked as a wind energy consultant for engineering consultancies SgurrEnergy and Mott MacDonald, and as a technical analyst for renewable company RES. She has also worked as a principal wind analyst for wind farm developer Repsol/Red Rock Power, mainly on the Inch Cape offshore wind farm project off the coast of Scotland.

Carmen holds Bachelor’s degrees in Fundamental Physics (from Universidad de Cantabria, Spain) and in Astrophysics (from Universidad de La Laguna, Spain). She also holds a PhD in Astrophysics jointly from the Universities of Leeds and Sheffield (UK).
