“Transmission infrastructure remains not just an enabler, but the lynchpin in achieving the UK’s 50 GW target of offshore wind by 2030. Challenges remain, including grid capacity, supply chain constraints, and skilled resources. But, combined with sensible public policy that nudges developers & stakeholders and encourages collaboration and innovation, the future for the industry in the UK has never been brighter. At BlueFloat Energy we are playing our part with our floating offshore wind projects in the UK and our two INTOG projects, which will encourage innovation in exciting new technologies still under development. Challenging, but exciting times ahead”

Derrick MacLeod, Head of Project Delivery at BlueFloat Energy, participated yesterday at the Global Transmission’s 2nd annual conference on Offshore Wind, hosted by Global Transmission Report and co-hosted by REGlobal in London. Derrick shared a session with Alwyn Poulter, Public and Regulatory Affairs Manager at Vattenfall; Julia Rose, Head of Development -Offshore Wind UK at TotalEnergies; Damien Zachlod, Managing Director at EnBW Generation UK Limited and chaired by Jo Butlin, Chair OFGEM ESO Performance Panel at EnergyBridge (UK) Limited, to discuss from a developer perspective on topics such as grid availability, supply chain constraints, financing and innovation.

BlueFloat Energy is excited to collaborate in making the UK the centre of growth and innovation for offshore wind!
