Luis Miguel García González

Chief Technical Officer

As Chief Technical Officer, Luis Miguel has the global responsibility for coordinating all the technical workstreams of BlueFloat Energy to safeguard the consistency and quality of the technical solutions across the company’s global project portfolio. Together with his team he strives to further develop BlueFloat Energy’s cutting-edge expertise in floating wind technology and reaffirm the company’s position at the forefront of offshore industry. In close coordination with the Regional VPs, the Country Managers and the rest of the senior management team, Luis Miguel seeks to ensure that the technical areas effectively contribute towards successful project delivery and inform the company’s business strategy.

Before joining BlueFloat Energy, Luis Miguel worked over 12 years at EDPR and more recently at Ocean Winds (EDPR’s joint venture with Engie), where he was in charge of analyzing hundreds of offshore sites across different continents. As part of his core responsibilities, Luis Miguel led several Energy Assessment Due Diligences for merger and acquisitions and financial close of several projects. Among others, Luis Miguel was involved in major offshore wind projects, such as Moray East (UK), Le Tréport (France), Noirmoutier (France), Mayflower (USA) and floating projects such as Eoliennes Flottantes du Golfe du Lion (France) and WindFloat Atlantic (Portugal).

Other areas, where Luis Miguel has been deeply involved, include site conditions reports for several offshore projects, which obtained positive certification statements of compliance, and more than 10 offshore wind measurement campaigns mainly based on floating LiDAR technology.

Luis Miguel holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a specialization in automatics (University of Seville) and industrial organization (UNIR).  He is also member of the International Electrotechnical Commission.
