In collaboration with the Galician Offshore Energy Group (GOE-Asime) and the Xunta de Galicia, we are fostering the value chain of the offshore wind industry in Galicia.
Francisco Villazón González, Head of Engineering at BlueFloat Energy, participated in a workshop on the current challenges of offshore wind and the enhancement of its value chain in Galicia. The event, organized by GOE-Asime and the Xunta de Galicia, aims to promote collaboration among companies and promoters in Galicia and northern Spain.
The session emphasized the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders, including governments, institutions, industry players, developers, etc., as well as innovation in the transition towards decarbonization. Additionally, the event included discussions on the evolution of offshore wind technology towards larger and more cost-effective turbines, as well as the potential of floating wind. Alongside experts from the Universidade de Vigo, Francisco highlighted the need to invest in strengthening and developing the local value chain to make floating wind more competitive in terms of pricing.
