As the Head of Consents, Nancy will be responsible for the consenting workstream of ScotWind Bellrock project and for working with the project engineers to ensure that we develop a consentable, financeable and buildable project to achieve Financial Investment Decision.  She will support the project team in developing a design envelope to encompass foreseeable technologies that will reduce the environmental footprint of our projects, increase our opportunities to embrace local supply chain in Scotland, while maintaining project competitiveness

Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Nancy has spent nearly 20 years delivering renewable industry projects within the UK.  She joins us from EDF Renewables, where she spent the last three and a half years running their Round 4 and ScotWind tendering teams, and most recently was the Project Director for their Celtic Sea tendering aspirations.  She utilized her consenting experience gained through secondments into various different developers with Scottish Projects down the east coast of Scotland as a consultant prior to joining EDF Renewables, and her understanding of engineering parameters associated with the design envelopes, to ensure that project Lifecycle Cost of Electricity (LCoE) was at the forefront of considerations for project design at all stages of the project lifecycle.

While undertaking these project delivery roles, Nancy also represented the Scottish offshore wind industry in strategic workstreams such as the Offshore Wind Industry Council’s (OWIC’s) Pathways to Growth, in which the UK offshore wind industry works in partnership with the Determining Authorities and their stakeholders to address consenting barriers within the UK system. She has a particular expertise in bird impacts and strategies for reducing uncertainty in the impact assessment process. Nancy has a particularly strong relationship with the industry body Scottish Renewables, who are coordinating industry efforts to ensure delivery of the 27 GW + of projects awarded Options for Lease through the ScotWind process.
