Site Assessment Engineer

As Site Assessment Engineer at BlueFloat Energy, Lewis supports the company’s business origination and project development activities related to site screening and selection. He is responsible for conducting energy yield assessment estimates, estimating project capacity and optimizing wind farm, supporting the wind turbine and floater selection activities, preparing site conditions reports for the basis of design of the projects, supervising and coordinating work of the external technical contractors. Lewis is also involved in developing in-house methodologies and tools for wind and metocean assessment.

Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Lewis gained experience in Research and Development in the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Málaga, where he worked to develop machine learning models for the management of battery-based energy storage systems with domestic and industrial applications, such as microgrids, renewable energies and electric railway systems. He was responsible for the conception, optimization, programming, and simulation of the different models, as well as data analysis and technical documentation.

Lewis holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Málaga (Spain), where he specialised in systems engineering and automation.
