Jorge is the Head of the Site Assessment team in BlueFloat Energy. Supporting the company’s project development activities worldwide, the team is responsible for the wind & oceanographic (metocean) and ground seabed (geoscience) assessments. The main tasks of the team include: definition of wind and metocean campaigns, geotechnical and geophysical strategy of the projects, layout optimization from a LCOE perspective and carrying out energy yield assessments.
With over 14 years of experience in the wind industry, Jorge has worked mainly in the wind energy assessment field. Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy he worked for 7 years at Nordex , where he led in the last period the wind & site assessment team of its International Division (Americas, Spain, Africa and APAC markets), a large and multicultural team. Prior to that, he worked at Acciona for 7 years, initially as Wind Resource Analyst for Acciona Energia developments and subsequently at Acciona Windpower as Wind Engineer for WTG assessments and Projects Engineer.
Jorge holds a Bachelor´s degree in agricultural engineering from Universidad Pública de Navarra (UPNA) and a Master’s degree in renewable energies from Universidad Europea (Spain).
