Head of Wind Turbine Generator

As Head of Wind Turbine Generator, Beatriz is responsible for the development and implementation of the overall strategy with regards to the wind turbine generator package throughout the full life cycle of the projects. She supports project development in different markets by running requests for proposals, assessing technical offers and selecting a preferred WTG model for each project, ensuring that the overall design of the WTG proposed for each project is compliant with the requirements and monitoring the schedule and development budget related to the WTG package. She also support the procurement process by discussing and negotiating with key contractors the supply and installation of the WTG, analyzing the technical aspects of the Turbine Supply Agreement and provide inputs to the business model.Beatriz brings 11 years of project management experience in large-scale offshore wind projects.

Working for Scottish Power and Iberdrola, she gained a very relevant and wide-ranging experience across different areas and phases of an offshore wind project.

Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Beatriz served as the Wind Turbines Package Manager for the Baltic Eagle Offshore Wind Farm in the Baltic Sea, in charge of the Turbine Supply Agreement (TSA) signed between Iberdrola and VESTAS and all the activities around the design, fabrication, supply, installation and commissioning of 50 wind turbines.

Before that, Beatriz was involved in all the tendering activities from the bidding phase with different OEMs to the signature of a pre-agreement Contract with the preferred contractor and the final signature of the TSA.

During the first years of her career in the offshore wind industry, Beatriz was involved in the management of the structural design of wind turbine foundations and the offshore substation for the Wikinger Offshore Wind Farm. She then took up the Deputy Package Manager role with responsibility for the wind turbine foundations contract, including management of the manufacturing, interfaces with other contracts, assessment, negotiation and settlement of contractual claims and variations.

Beatriz holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), and before starting her career in offshore wind, she worked for major multinational construction and engineering companies like Ferrovial, Dragados, OHL Concesiones and Ineco.
