Walid Oulmane

Head of Ports & Industrialization

As Head of Ports & Industrialization, Walid is responsible for developing and implementing BlueFloat Energy’s project execution strategies and supporting our global development activities. Leveraging his expertise in offshore wind supply chain and ports, he is in charge of developing a long-term strategy for floater industrialization, serial fabrication/assembly according to the commercial strategy of each project and considering the local infrastructure constraints.

Walid is a global expert in ports since he has visited and audited more than 110 ports in 14 countries. He is a regular contributor to major industry events as a panelist, speaker, and chair.

Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Walid served as the Hub and Industrialization Manager for SBM Offshore, based in Monaco. He was responsible of the development of the industrialization strategy for the floater developed by SBM Offshore.

Walid started his career at General Electric (GE) Offshore Wind, where he contributed to the development of the Global Supply Chain for the 6MW and Haliade-X Nacelle. He developed the industrialization of the magnets and stator poles. He was the Senior Project Sourcing Manager covering a large scope ranging from global sourcing, contract and procurement, transport and logistics to operations and maintenance services.

Walid holds a MSc in Industrial Engineering from Polytechnic School (Algeria), MSc in Evaluation and Project Management from Paris1-Sorbonne (France) and Project Financing certification from the University of Delaware (USA).
