As Country Manager for BlueFloat Energy, Armando is responsible for BlueFloat Energy in Colombia leading the development of offshore wind projects from site screening through to Final Investment Decision and beyond. Armando manages site selection, consenting, development planning, establishes and maintains relationships with strategic partners and key local stakeholders in the country.
Prior to joining BlueFloat Energy, Armando worked in the development of EPC energy projects as Country Manager of companies such as Duro Felguera Colombia, Techint Colombia, Sacyr Industrial Colombia and Executive Vice President of Termotecnia Coindustrial where he began contact with the execution of related works of renewable energy generation.
Armando has worked in the energy sector for more than 6 years. As Director of Project Development for TW Solar (TWS), company headquartered in Barcelona, he was responsible for overseeing the development of photovoltaic projects for Colombia and in charge of facilitating strategic relationships withthe final investors, which resulted in the execution of more than 200 solar MW of this company in Colombia.
Before joining TWS, Armando worked for more than 18 years in the oil and gas industry, developing and managing gas and thermal generation projects, production facilities, and gas injection and sweetening industries.
Armando is a Civil Engineer graduated from Los Andes University and holds MSCI (Master of Science in Civil Engineering) from Georgia Tech, and an advanced studies degree in business administration from the Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administración (CESA) in Colombia.
